Good morning and happy weekend! It’s been quite beautiful here in southern Wyoming, albeit a bit windy (but that’s nothing new), and I have gardening on the brain. I have always lived in places where you can start planting at the end of March, early April, and be done with it. Gardening here has proposed quite the challenge. We live in a valley that’s set at an altitude of 7200 feet. It gets very cold and very windy, and our last average frost date isn’t until June 6th. JUNE 6TH YOU GUYS. JUNE 6TH! What is this crazy nonsense?! Our average first frost date is at the beginning of September. As you can tell, gardening becomes pretty difficult. Luckily, I’ve had my dad in town for the past week and he built me a beautiful cold frame which will hopefully allow me to plant a little bit earlier this year. Cross your fingers because those little seedlings are going in the ground this weekend, and I pray that the cold frame is enough to keep them alive.
I hope you guys also have some pretty exciting plans for the weekend! We have another edition of weekly family menu plan for you today and this one is a pretty spectacular one. Check out the links for the recipes below and don’t forget to print out a shopping list! Have a great weekend friends!
